The City of Calgary Police Department became the first municipal police force in Canada to own and operate a helicopter in July 1995 when this MD500N became operational. DECA Aviation is proud to have contributed to the certification of the surveillance camera system installation. The surveillance camera system installation received its Limited Supplemental Type Approval on June 30, 1995, on schedule, and in time to honour the retirement of the outgoing police chief.
