de Havilland DHC-4 "Caribou"
Conversion to PWC PT6A-67T Engines

Faced with an increasing shortage in the spare parts supply for the P&W R-2000 radial engines, the otherwise rugged and dependable DHC-4 Caribou aircraft was facing an unceremonious early retirement. Pen Turbo Aviation in New Jersey decided that a market still existed for these workhorse airplanes, and undertook the initiative to re-engine these aircraft with the dependable Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67T turboprops.

DECA Aviation participated in this program with some of the engineering support required for certification of this modification. A Supplemental Type Certificate was granted in November, 2000.
