de Havilland DHC-7
Conversion to E.M. Survey Configuration

Already experienced with electromagnetic survey aircraft operations, our customer required a new survey aircraft platform capable of operations at high altitudes. In support of this program, DECA Aviation performed the initial feasibility studies to determine the suitable aircraft, and subsequently, was tasked with converting the airplane into the EM Survey Configuration.

Structural modifications were required to provide mounting points for the cable array surrounding the airplane, and extensive flight testing was required in order to determine that there were no adverse and unsafe effects on the modified airplane.

The photo at the top shows the aircraft on its maiden test flight following the conversion process.
